To reduce the possibility of health workers infected or transmit infection to other people, precautions and control of the right infection such as the use of self-protective equipment (APD) is very important. One type of APD used for handling Covid-19 is a face protector. Face protector The design of the FTMD team consists of an order of 18 cm in diameter, a protective visor of 24 & Times; 31 cm, rubber binding, and foam. The production process of facial protection consists of several stages, namely the procurement of raw materials, preparation of components ranging from printing with 3D printer machines to cutting ATI foam, assembly, sterilization with sterilization cabins, the production of facial protectors has been tested and proved to be able to protect the face well. A total of 2,000 facial protectors funded by LPPM have been produced and sent to BPUDL ITB, hereinafter channeled to health facilities in need.
Face Protective Equipment for Health Workers
Analysis of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) shows that the average 7% of all cases of Covid-19 throughout the world are from health workers, which means that the possibility of around 11 among the dead in Indonesia is health workers. One factor why health workers at risk of being infected are due to their close contact with their patients and body fluids.
