Activity Summary

The synbiotic use application given on feed is one way that is able to increase the immune system. Sinbiotic is a product that is Contains probiotics and prebiotics. Prebiotics are considered able to improve survival, feed efficiency, and composition of beneficial bacteria in the fish digestive tract (Merrifield et al., 2010). The use of sinbiotic supplementation on feed is able to improve survival, stimulate growth, and improve the host immune system (Cerezuela et al., 2011). This synbiotic formulation was previously tested on the larviculture of tilapia and proven able to increase the intrusion of fish larva, growth and efficiency of feed use, and resistance to the pathogenic bacteria aeromonas hydrophila. Therefore, in this community service activities, appropriate technology applications have been carried out in the form of sinbiotic products for enlarging tilapia in a closed system in collaboration with local partners, namely PT. Indohatchery Bina Insani Sejahtera in Kab. Cianjur, West Java. Sinbiotic products that are tested consist of probiotic bacterial consortium (the results of development by the Microbial Biotechnology KK team, SITH ITB) and prebiotics in the form of Microalgae Spirulina sp. Commercial, which provides excellent tilapia products, has good growth and productivity, as well as a high level of life and resistance to disease. This activity directly has an impact on increasing the productivity of tilapia cultivation in the local partner environment, and has the potential to disseminate the area around the Citarum watershed, Kec. Kolot Dance, Cianjur Regency, as the future pioneer industry is expected to have a positive impact on increasing fish farming in the industry around.

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the superior commodities of fisheries with The level of market demand continues to increase every year. Cultured fisheries production grew an average of 3.36% and it is known that nila commodities obtain an increase significant by 14% out of a total of 13.17 million tons during 2015 until the third quarter of within In 2018. In addition, the percentage of nila fish commodities occupied the highest value (29%) compared to catfish, catfish, carp, milkfish and other cultivation fish (KKP, 2019). Along with high production, the potential cases of mass death in bulk In the stages of hatchery and enlargement due to bacterial and virus infections are also high, one example is the case of a bulk death of freshwater fish in Cianjur Regency on November 2019 due to aeromonas bacterial infection (Kompas, 2019). Disease prevention Bacterial in fish can be done by administering antibiotics. However, administration continuous antibiotics can result in bacterial resistance to antibiotics the.
