Activity Summary

Citarum is one of the main rivers in West Java which is a water source for the community and natural habitat for a variety of natural life. However, the Citarum River is also known as one of the most polluted rivers not only in Indonesia but also in the world. One polluter on this river is organic waste produced from economic activities around the river. Unlike inorganic waste, there is a relatively low desire from the community in the process of processing organic waste because the resulting end products are relatively limited and often not considered to have no high selling value. Coupled with the assumption that organic waste will break down with time, there is a tendency to dispose of organic waste to the river body. One approach that can be done is to change the perception of the community, namely through an increase in the value of the results Organic waste treatment. Masyrakat conditions before the Implementation of PM, the community has processed the processing of organic waste in the form of limited amount of animal waste. Organic waste produced, the scope of the implementation of PM is training and the application of appropriate technology.
