Activity Summary

With increasing population growth in Depok City every year, resulting in increasing waste generation. In 2018 the average garbage produced by Depok City was 1300 tons / day. Disposal of garbage that ended in Cipayung landfill located in the outskirts of Depok also presented the problem, one of which was the traffic and odor that was caused by garbage transport by transport trucks that crossed the urban area. Processing in communal waste in Small scale several levels of RW have been presented as one of the waste handling than the transportation to the final disposal site located outside the city. This PMK (Community Service) activity is intended for revitalization of UPS (Waste processing unit), on Jalan Merdeka no. 3, Depok. In particular, activities Aimed at perfecting the gasification unit and electric diesel-generator motorbike. This UPS received organic waste from sorting household waste collected from four RWs (pillars of residents) around it. The gasification unit is available with a capacity of 50 kg / hour, and the generator motor can produce 48 kW electricity. Overall this UPS is expected to be self-energy. Pellet Production Production The waste processing system is partly used as a raw material for the gasification process and others can be sold as solid fuel to the surrounding community. The condition of the waste processing unit (UPS) Merdeka 3 Depok City Before the implementation has carried out the production of wood and leaf branch processing production into pellets. The use of electrical energy originating from state electricity (PLN) makes the need for high production costs. The lack of operator HR capabilities in running a diesel generator unit and the unit set of available optimally available as a producer of electrical energy sources need to be a special concern in this activity.
