In the era carried out by the rotation of the wheels of capitalism, aspects of production and consumption cannot be separated from photography and their derivatives. Contemporary human perception is also formed by photography imagery. Photography that has unlimited reproductive habitus, also gave acceleration to cultural globalization through photography imagery. Digital technology supported by the internet, dragging photography is increasingly out of control in the context of production, consumption, and manipulation. This makes the role of photography in visual culture more radical. Contrary to modern art, contemporary art is considered important as a symbolic cultural practice that provides critical reflection. In this case photography becomes very relevant, because of its dominance in today's culture, as well as the journey of photography history. It also shows the Contingency of photography works, which require discourse to justify their important positions. The first edition of Bandung Photography Triennale 2022 this time carries the main theme of Future Is Now: Skepticsm, New Reality and Infinities. The theme will be a guideline for all programs in the Bandung Photography Triennale and derived into several sub themes in each program. Bandung Photography Triennale focuses on the practice of contemporary photography that is connected to the discourse of contemporary art. Through contemporary photography they also carry out autocritics and exorcism in the body of photography itself as well as social statements for anxiety over the condition of the earth and humans in the anthropocene era in the stoptopian perspective. . From the works displayed very clearly the reluctance of artists to discuss photography as a technology product in technical aspects. Even some works are so firm to be read to be read with basic semiotics. This photography trio is an offer to be in the Indonesian contemporary art field, namely when contemporary photographic works have not been decided by the proper discourse and the market.
