Activity Summary

Physics is an important subject in the education curriculum in Indonesia, but is often considered difficult by students. One of the factors that influences the quality of physics learning is teacher competence. Many physics and science teachers do not have the appropriate academic qualifications and teaching certificates. In the digital era, this challenge can be overcome through a workshop to increase the competency of physics teachers in the field of mechanics using Technology-Based Practicum 4.0.

This workshop is designed to help physics teachers in Semarang improve their competency by utilizing technology, such as video analysis software . Apart from that, this workshop also helps teachers develop STEM-based learning media to maximize students' critical thinking abilities.

This community service program is implemented by the instrumentation and computing physics expertise group, which has excellence in developing technology-based tools and applications information for learning physics. It is hoped that this program will provide benefits for physics and science teachers in Semarang, as well as improve the quality of physics learning in secondary schools.



Target

Increase the knowledge and skills of physics and science teachers in secondary schools regarding physics concepts and effective and innovative learning methods. Providing and demonstrating information technology-based tools that can help the physics and science learning process in secondary schools, and can be used for physics practicums. Increase students' motivation, interest and understanding of physics and science material, as well as their experimental skills and scientific literacy. Building a collaborative network between the instrumentation and computing physics expertise group with teachers, students, schools and the community in the field of physics and science education. Creation of at least one prototype of learning aids accompanied by learning modules.
