One of the communities concerned about flooding in the Majalaya area, “Take care of Balai,” which is translated freely from Sundanese to Indonesian as “disaster mitigation,” carry out community-based disaster preparedness and mitigation efforts. These include water level observations, weather observations, and communication between residents to share information related to flood inundation, which has implemented the principles of citizen science (citizen science). Early warning requires a reliable monitoring system, and is supported by human resources from the community as perpetrators of disaster information dissemination as well as residents who have the potential to become victims of flood disasters.
Continuing the ITB PPSDA community service activities in previous years which focused on providing tools for monitoring rain and river water levels in real time, the Jaga Balai community together with the Water Resources Engineering and Management Study Program are making efforts to  ;transfer the knowledge that has been learned through experience as a Weather Monitoring Team (PACU), to the young generation at SMA/SMK/MA level who are expected to be the successors of flood care community activities in the future.
