Activity Summary

The study of economic and sanitation vulnerabilities due to changes in the coastline that can have a negative impact on the community of local fishermen requires information on the pillars of sustainability that are integrated with the geographical information system (sig). Analysis of changes in the coastline requires knowledge of the beach position, which is usually studied through remote sensing data. The position of the coastline and speed is obtained from the image of Landsat-7 ETM + and Landsat-8 for 18 years from 1999-2017. During a period of 18 years, erosion occur along the coast in the transect of 6 and 12 in Cemarajaya District. The average land is lost at 5,205 ha at the erosion rate of -3.45 m / year. In contrast, abrasion occurs in transects 2 and 3 in Sungaibuntu District. The land formed as large as 6,659 ha and 6,492 ha with a rate of 5.51 m / year and 2.19 m / year respectively. The use of land in the transek is dominated by fishermen settlements. New concepts of vulnerabilities are related to components of water supply and sanitation. Primary data related to social and economic conditions sourced through questionnaires to local fishermen. The survey was conducted on 67 respondents in Sungaibuntu District and 63 respondents in Cemarajaya Regency. The results of the study found that Cemarajaya was relatively more vulnerable compared to Sungaibuntu, with the index of 3.49 and 4.34 respectively. Sanitation as part of the structure of settlement is more contributing to exposure and sensitivity with high magnitude to very high. In terms of measure of adaptation capacity, poor socio-economic conditions result in low levels of adaptability. This study shows the advantages of the MDCM approach in an effort to increase sanitation vulnerability assessment in dealing with coastline changes in a particular region.
