Activity Summary

In groups of cultivators and coffee processors, there are some things that become Attention, namely (1) increasing quantity and quality of coffee beans produced, (2) Processing waste from coffee cultivation and processing processes, and (3) socio-economic aspects of industrial development. The quantity and quality of the coffee beans themselves are related to the process such as the pollination process, post-harvest protection. On the other hand, coffee waste in the form of fruit skin and shells of coffee beans mixed during the process of exfoliation have the potential to be processed into materials that are useful for increasing soil fertility naturally, namely organic fertilizer / compost. In addition to compost, coffee waste can be used as a component component of feed in a formulation with other constituent feed ingredients, so that it can meet the needs of the daily nutrition of sheep, especially in the adequacy of dry materials, digestive proteins and metabolic energy. In the second year, it was planned for training and transfer of related technology with (1) the introduction of local stingless bees applications as a pollinated agent with a plan expand the application area and development of derivative products from honey bees, (2) technology related to the protection of coffee fruit on insect pest attacks both before harvest and post-harvest, (3) technology related to post-harvest processing, (4) Agricultural waste processing technology using insects As a controlling agent to produce new compost and sources of feed, in addition to the development of economic value and as part of an integrated coffee agricultural system, and (5) the introduction of business management for determining strategic steps related to increasing business competitiveness.
