The Minister of Health hopes that this year the decline in stunting cases will be even sharper so that the target of reducing stunting at 14% in 2024 can be achieved. The prevalence of stunting in Central Java in 2022 is 20.8%. This figure is down 0.1% from 2021. However, 20 districts/cities experienced an increase in stunting cases. Central Java is the best provincial government in reducing stunting with a position of 20.9%. However, the government's target for reducing stunting rates has not been achieved according to the target, therefore efforts to reduce/suppress stunting still need to be made. One of the causes of stunting is a lack of understanding about reproductive health, especially for young mothers, which is also related to nutritional problems, which leads to the emergence of children categorized as stunted. Stunting does not only occur after birth, but during gestation, the mother's knowledge of reproductive health and nutrition also determines fetal development and has an impact on the emergence of stunting conditions when the child is growing. The Physiology, Animal Development and Biomedical Science Group (KK FPHSB) studies knowledge, one of which is related to Reproductive Physiology, which is the basic science that is important for young mothers to understand in maintaining reproductive health, especially during pregnancy, as well as including factors related to fetal development. can have an impact on the child's physical and intellectual growth. This community service was attended by young mothers of productive age and several cadres in 10 (ten) villages in Dukuhwaru District. In this activity, apart from presenting material related to maintaining reproductive health, material on efforts to prevent stunting through fulfilling balanced nutritional intake for mothers and children was also presented so that future prevention of stunting can be more optimal.
Providing education about reproductive health, fetal development and stunting prevention to the community, especially young mothers in Central Java.
The benefit of this activity is that it can build awareness of women's reproductive health and prevent cases of stunting in toddlers.
