Activity Summary

The market share of sharia banking in Indonesia is relatively low even though Indonesia is a country with a majority Muslim population. An innovative approach to increasing literacy regarding finance using the Islamic sharia system is board games, because board games have been used by the Anti-Corruption Education and Training Directorate of the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) or ACLC in spreading anti-corruption values which have been proven to be effective through a number of studies regarding the role of board games in educating the player. Board games are a good learning medium for implementing experiential learning as a model that explains the process of creating knowledge through what is gained from experience. Board games encourage players to be more immersive in the experiences they play so that the learning aspects of this model are achieved while the children's playing aspects are also fulfilled. Therefore, sharia financial literacy which requires experience in managing finances, even if it is limited to simulations, has high compatibility when utilizing board game media. Based on prototype tests on Depok Natural School students, it was also found that education regarding sharia financial literacy must be carried out in stages and stages according to the level of complexity of sharia finance and the level of ability of the target audience to understand sharia financial content.
