Activity Summary

Breakwater is one of the structures that are often used to overcome coastal problems such as high wave reducing and reducing coastal erosion. One of the developing and much investigated is Floating Breakwater. In general, Floating Breakwater is suitable for use in deep sea with waves that have a relatively small period. One advantage of using floating breakwater is a cheaper cost to be applied in the deep sea. The purpose of this study is to do numerical modeling for the coastal structure of the coast of floating breakwater type of wave conditions in a waters of Indonesia and obtaining the effectiveness of the structure attenuation. This research begins with a literature study related to floating wave breakers, after that, data retrieval is needed for numerical modeling using the software to be determined subsequently. The results of the modeling were then analyzed to see the effectiveness of the attenuation of the floating coastal structure based on the magnitude of the transmission coefficient.
