Port cities with service movement and goods, tend to develop with infrastructure networks, especially transportation networks, which are regionally connected and with large road geometry, as well as high economic activities around the port area. This makes the port as the center of activity or one of the activity centers in the city. The city of Cirebon, as one of the cities in West Java Province which has a port with high activity potential, Cirebon port began to develop its port to become a modern port in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Transportation Number KP 432 in 2017 concerning the National Port Plan. The development of the port of Cirebon becomes a modern port, of course it will increase the port activity even greater. In addition, infrastructure support also needs to be done to support the port activity. Therefore, the need for identification of the extent to which the development of Cirebon Port becomes this modern port can have an impact on the pattern of development of Cirebon in general, so that the city of Cirebon can adapt and anticipate the possibility of changes in the development pattern of the city. This research is classified as qualitative research. Based on the method, this study is classified as qualitative research using spatial analysis.
The results of this study are beneficial in developing the city spatial planning plan and the city spatial planned details consider the development of the thematic city, in this case the port city.
