The position of the Hilal as a determinant of the beginning of the month in the Islamic calendar system can be calculated and precisely described as a position guide in the initial observation and prediction of the hilal can be observed or not. In this paper, compared to the distribution of hilal positions that have a positive and age 0-24 hours at sunset for the location of Jayapura, Pontianak, Ratu Port and Banda Aceh. The hilal position is calculated using the Meuss algorithm. Hilal position is described in a high plot and elongation at sunset. The comparison results were obtained that the hilal in the city of Pontianak distribution was narrower when compared to Jayapura. The widest Hilal distribution was obtained in the Port of Ratu Port and Banda Aceh. The distribution of this hilal position can be used as a reference in determining the criteria for the visibility of the hilal for the location around the equator, especially Indonesia.
