Activity Summary

Extensive research has been done to be studied Mangrove forest performance in reducing waves that cause erosion. However, the publication of the quantitative impact of the protection of beach nature, especially the characteristics of mangrove vegetation is still small. On the other hand, there are challenges in the development of natural coastal protection, for example. The mangrove tree has been damaged by waves or currents, before growing strongly. This study is focused on wave transmission through the main natural protection combination and temporary man-made structure, or a natural beach protection system. Wave reduction parameters are shown by the specified transmission coefficient As a high comparison of transmission waves and the initial wave height. The transmission coefficient for balanced land conditions is before the application of natural beach protection is presented in Figure 3 and the transmission coefficient after the application of natural beach protection systems with a distance between 10cm mangresters (staggered and tandem). By using mangrove vegetation as a coastal protector, the wave height decreases by around 20%. The difference in reducing waves between tandem and tree settings staggered less than 10%.
