The risk of every construction project, due to uncertainty and inherent and unavoidable changes, always occurs in every aspect and stages. Therefore, in achieving its objectives, relatively complex construction projects need to have a good risk management plan. This book contains a discussion of the risk management process that should be existed and prepared for both the contractor and owner (owner) on a construction project.
Risks in the construction project cannot be separated from decision making that must be intensively taken by owners and especially contractors, with outcomes decisions that cannot be ascertained , because it is always oriented in the future, the information is not perfectly owned when the decision is taken. Therefore, this book also discusses risks in connection with the decision making that must be done in uncertainty. Decision making that is at risk can not be separated from the attitude of decision makers towards risk, which for a contractor will affect his strategy in determining the contingency and doing risk pricing . The strategy of response to risk by transferring it through insurance, is also part of this book.
Finally, several case studies were collected from a number of research results conducted in the Construction Management and Engineering Expertise Group at the Bandung Institute of Technology, as well as interesting cases regarding risk management in the Turyapada Menara Development Project in Buleleng, Bali by PT PT . Hutama Karya, is a part that shows important things about risk management that should be given attention in various projects in Indonesia.
