This community service was carried out to analyze the linkages of social media with branding to improve the economic level of the Babakan Village craftsman community, Pangandaran. As a community, Babakan Village crafters in Pangandaran have not used social media as a promotional forum to introduce their production results. This is very unfortunate, because the products of the Babakan Village crafters community are of high economic value, even have the opportunity to make Babakan Village a tourist village.
The opportunity for Babakan Village in opening its market so that it can be overcome using social media. As a form of rapidly developing technology, social media is inherent in all human activities. This can help the Babakan Village Crafters Community in introducing the results of its production. With a network that is so extensive and can be accessed by many people, social media can make Babakan Village handicraft products not only known by the village community, but can also be known by people from other regions. When utilizing social media, the Babakan Village craftsman community must package their products as attractive as possible so that users are interested in buying their production results. The problem faced by the Babakan Village craftsman community is the lack of knowledge about branding and social media.
This research was conducted to answer the problems faced by the Babakan Village Crafters Community. By carrying out workshop and training in the use of social media for branding Babakan Village Crafters Community Products, it is hoped that the Babakan Village Crafters Community has knowledge branding and knowledge about the use of media social. Knowledge branding on social media is also expected to affect the increase in the results of production sold so as to increase the economic level of the community. In addition, branding carried out by the Babakan Village craftsman community is expected to open up opportunities for Babakan Village to become a tourist village.
