Activity Summary

This Research covered some sub-research about enhancement of rice plant productivity and study about other staple food besides rice. First sub-research is study to examine the effect of local organic matter (Tithonia diversifolia and Azolla pinnata) on the grow and yield of rice plants. Sub-activity of community service is, the collection of tubers from yam plant group at Sumedang that can be utilize as alternative staple food. This activity succeeded in collecting (Canna discolor) 24 individuals, Gadung (Dioscorea hispida) 24 individuals, Kimpul atau bentul (Xanthosoma sagittifolium) 43 individuals, Garut (Maranta arundinacea) 48 individuals, dan black tubers (Plectranthus rotundifolius) 30 individuals. The collected tubers from Sumedang placed in nursery gardens that built in ITB Jatinangor. After six month the tubers are transferred to an open field to be cultivated as a productive age.
