Activity Summary

This study examines local coffee branding strategies as a key element in developing East Belitung Regency as a halal tourism destination, targeting the Muslim tourist market. The creative industry plays a vital role in showcasing the distinct flavors of local coffee while boosting the regional economy. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, low awareness of halal standards, and ineffective marketing strategies hinder progress. Using a literature review approach, the research explores the intersection of coffee branding, creative industries, and halal tourism. The study reveals a unique opportunity to position local coffee as a halal tourism attraction by incorporating Malay-Belitung cultural elements into its branding narrative. Findings highlight the importance of synergy between local governments, coffee entrepreneurs, and the creative community in crafting a distinctive identity. This integrated approach can strengthen East Belitung's appeal as a competitive halal tourism destination, both domestically and internationally.
