Activity Summary

The landslide that took place on a cliff beside Jalan Colonel Masturi, Cikahuripan, West Bandung, caused severe damage. It happened in the rainy season in the area whose cliff was closely related to landslides. Many steps can be done to reduce the risk of landslides. One of them by applying a geophysical investigation with the DC-Resistivity method. Research with the DC resistivity method tries to map the slip field on a cliff that can be a trigger for landslides. Three survey lines, one perpendicular and two parallel to the cliff, then done using dipole-dipole and array Schlumberger to map surface resistivity. Generally, the SLIP field must be the contact area between the lower resistivity area above higher. But on the contrary, the results of investigations show that lower resistivity areas occur under a higher area. From these results it can be concluded that there is no slip field on a cliff. The cause of the landslide tends to be a buildup of water below the surface that is generally known as rainfall runoff
