Activity Summary

Increased population, especially urban areas and declining national food production is one of the causes of increasing national food prices. At present it is estimated that the population in urban areas in Indonesia has exceeded 50%. In 2000 the percentage of the population in urban areas was 42% and increased to 49.8% in 2010. The development of productive RTH development not only functions as a city aesthetic, but it can also be used as a source of land to produce food for residents around Through the use of softmaterial or food crop vegetation. RTH management activities as productive land have been carried out in the city of Bandung through the Bandung gardening community, but still not optimal. The purpose of this service activity is to develop a productive RTH development model in supporting food security in the city of Bandung. This activity has been conducted since 2015. In 2015, PM was directed to explore the concepts of productive RTH and some precedents of the application of productive RTH.
