In 2021 the process of making a prototype smart water meter, this prototype has been tested functionally and resistance to actual environmental conditions. The technology that has been developed in the form of a smart water meter device which is equipped with sensors that can read the physical and chemical water quality parameters such as acidity (pH), water and air temperatures, humidity, oxygen levels, and solid particle levels. This device is also equipped with Long Range (IoT) Internet of Things (LORA) technology to send data taken from sensors to clouds on a distance so that data can be read through smartphone or computer devices anywhere and anytime. This device has been completed in the stage of making a prototype and has been tested in the field. With this water quality monitoring system that runs automatically the farmers can manage the water media used. For example if the pH decreases, the farmers can add lime to stabilize the pH. Thus the quality of water can be maintained in optimal conditions for cultivated fish. So that the carrying capacity of the waters does not decrease and the production of fisheries cultivation can be maintained.
then the community service to be carried out focuses on the post-installation stage. Where the post-installation stage of its main activity is assistance to farmers to be able to use the device correctly. Assistance in the form of monitoring post-installation devices, training, improvement system devices, maintenance and repair if needed. Furthermore, an introduction is made in a larger scope so that it is expected to form an ecosystem and expansion of the market so that more and more farmers who use this device, the product will be increasingly known, brand awareness increases. From this activity, you can also find out the response from the cultivation community can cause reciprocity for the development of the next product.
Get reciprocity for the development of the next product; Knowing the response from the cultivator; Knowing the performance of the device in the real environment
ITB can conduct research that is beneficial to the wider community, especially pond fishermen, globally this research contributes to facing the challenges of "food security" and also anticipate the effect of climate change on pond productivity
