Activity Summary

"The hydrometeorological disaster is the most common disaster in Indonesia, such as strong winds, floods, flash floods, landslides and drought. Even in April 2021, the tropical cyclone of Seroja struck the Kupang region and its surroundings, which previously never had a tropical cyclone occurred in the mainland region of Indonesia. Of the thousands of hydrometeorological disasters that occur every year, it is still difficult to find data and information related to weather conditions that can be used to understand the mechanism of the disaster. Limited data and weather information during the disaster are closely related to the limitations of weather observation stations in Indonesia. One of the limitations is that the station is not specifically prepared to observe data related to the hydrometeorological disaster. Bandung Institute of Technology as a higher education institution, a forum for the development of science and technology in the field of atmospheric science. Since 2012, the atmospheric science expertise group has begun community service in the Bandung Basin, especially in the Majalaya region. In 2022, KK Science atmofer will complement the Meteorological Observation Station, especially for the purpose of obtaining data related to the Hindrometeorological Disaster through Community Service Activities Observation Hydrometeorology Floods in the Citarum Hulu and Pekalongan Watersheds. This activity will be focused on the preparation of hydrometeorological observation procedures, especially related to hydrometeorological disaster. The procedure is compiled based on the characteristics of hydrometeorology in two areas prone to floods, namely the Citarum Hulu Das and Pekalongan City."
