Activity Summary

The Pharmacy School of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has been carrying out various community service activities since 2021, in collaboration with Tanjungsari Village, Gunungtanjung District, Tasikmalaya Regency. This activity not only covers the health sector, but also aims to increase community knowledge and skills in the fields of entrepreneurship and handicrafts. This year, the ITB School of Pharmacy carried out several activities which included oral and dental health education, market research training, integrated catfish cultivation and processing training, as well as skills improvement training in the field of mendong weaving. The development of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES) is often hampered by difficulties in exploring appropriate market potential. To overcome this, the ITB School of Pharmacy held market research training aimed at BUMDES, MSMEs, and local cadres. Dr Oktofa Yudha Sudrajat, an expert from the ITB School of Business and Management, explained the importance of market research in developing products that suit market needs. Market research, which can be done through observation, questionnaires, or interviews, aims to gather information about potential products, target markets, and product segmentation. Apart from that, this training also discusses how to determine product prices.

Product prices are usually determined based on production costs which include raw materials and tools used.
