Digital literacy is the ability to understand and use information from various sources that can be accessed via a computer. Meanwhile, The American Library Association (ALA) explains that digital literacy is the ability to use information and communication technology to find, evaluate, create and communicate information. This requires cognitive and technical skills. Activities such as searching for information via the Google search engine or Googling, playing on social media, sending emails, using artificial intelligence and the like are part of digital literacy. Religious education is learning material that must be implemented in schools in Indonesia, considering that one of the goals of national education is to create god-fearing people. In practice, the implementation of religious education at the Senior High School (SMA) level still uses "conventional" methods, namely the use of text books as reference material. The teachers explain what is in the textbook and the students pay attention. This method is certainly not wrong, but it has the potential to make students bored. This is because students currently belong to the Z or Alpha generation category who are very familiar with digital technology to access information. To overcome this, it is very important to use digital technology in religious education learning to make it more attractive in the eyes of students so that they can get more optimal benefits from the learning process. In this 2024 community service program, the team plans to provide digital literacy training in religious education learning for High School (SMA) teachers in East Belitung Regency, so that the teaching they do is more interesting for the students.
Ensure that religious learning in Belitung Regency high schools runs well. Optimizing religious learning in Belitung Regency high schools. Increasing the knowledge, insight and skills of teachers in the use of digital technology in the teaching process at school. The number of training participants is expected to reach 30 participants consisting of men and women, the main representatives of high school teachers in Belitung Regency.
Apart from providing a deeper understanding of the use of AI, digital training for high school teachers also builds cooperation and relations with the East Belitung district government, with the hope that there will be further collaboration for other useful activities.
