The proposed community service program is part of the planned socialization of the bamboo house construction as a post -disaster residential quickly builds, livable, and affordable throughout Indonesia. The construction of bamboo plaster houses (mabuter) was developed by the SAPPK ITB building technology team, and has met the requirements for 2 hours of fire resistance (TKA) and has been built in several regions in Java. Socialization activities include dissemination and workshop for making bamboo plaster house construction involving target community groups (construction workers and civil engineering students) and community companion NGO communities.
Through the socialization of the construction of bamboo houses in Makassar, it is hoped that it will add to the potential of many bamboo plants in South Sulawesi to be used as permanent and affordable residential construction materials. In addition, this community service activity is expected to form a skilled disaster response community and is ready to assist in the implementation of post -disaster reconstruction programs both in the Makassar City area and in the province of South Sulawesi and surrounding areas. The results of activities in the form of building prototype products and training modules can also be utilized as a learning tool for the general public, academics, architects, industry players, and local governments.
