Activity Summary

One form of cosmetic preparation needed in Indonesia as a tropical country is a sunscreen preparation. The general working principle is the ability to close the surface of the skin physically. One of the possible mechanisms to be developed with Sago starch active material is a solar venble preparation with a mechanism to cover the surface physically and reflect exposed light. The selection of sago starch particles can be used as an active sunscreen with the same mechanism as titan dioxide. The objectives to be achieved through the ITB Community Service program in 2017 are increasing the use of sago flour, both in terms of value to use and economic value. This utilization is carried out through making compact powder with sago flour so that it can be used as a cosmetic sunscreen. The implementation of the community to the community was carried out in the period April to November 2017. Pati Sago (Metroxylon SPP) was the result of an old sago tree pulmon extraction aged 8 16 years.
