Pangli Hamlet is a region that is rich in Kina plants. Initially, this land was managed by the Dutch government and was finally taken over by PTPN VIII after the period of independence. The majority of residents work as Kina factory employees. Besides being a factory employee, residents also farmed and raised cattle around their homes. Pangli Hamlet gets a very limited amount of electricity from Kina Plantation. Hamlet's main road, general MCK facilities, as well as multipurpose buildings built HMM ITB, do not have lighting. Therefore, there will be an installation of high efficiency solar panels. One problem from the use of solar cells / photo voltaic (PV) is the decline in solar cell efficiency at high temperatures. The increase in PV temperature will result in a decrease in electrical efficiency by 0.4-0.5% [1,2]. Therefore, a technique is needed to hamper the increase in temperature of solar cell operations. The use of phase changes (PCM) which is attached to the back side of the solar panel is proven to increase the electrical efficiency of the PV system. In this activity, the CaCl2.H2O type phase changed material is used as a Voltaic Photo Panel (PV) cooling media.
