Activity Summary

Wonosobo Regency is in Central Java Province and has the capital named Wonosobo. This district has an area of ​​984.68 km2 with a total population of 900,653 people. Based on the socio-economic level, the people of Wonosobo Regency are at a low level. This district is included in the region with the largest poor population in Central Java Province (TKPD, 2015). In order to overcome this problem and see the existing potential, the ITB LPPM team submitted a community empowerment program through the development of oyster fungus cultivation in Wonosobo Regency. The program implemented in Wonosobo Regency includes training activities, control, provision of business capital, business development, and assistance. The focus of the participants is the Agra Wonosobo farmer group which has a total of 1400 farmers with regional coverage spread across five villages, namely Sigedang Village, Banyumudal, Rimpak, Ngadikerso, and Pulosaren. This training activity was carried out through the presentation of material, discussion, and direct practice guided by the team from LPPM ITB. The material presentation contains the background and objectives of the activity, the theory of oyster fungus cultivation, and a little technical implementation. At the end of the activity is carried out the provision of tools and materials used during training so that participants can start direct cultivation activities. In addition, the appointment of the group leader so that it can facilitate the ITB LPPM team to control and evaluate. In addition, coaching will be carried out in the process of developing oyster mushroom products, business management, and organizational management by forming a cooperative. The final goal of the program is the formation of an oyster fungus cultivation business center so that it can help the economy of residents in Wonosobo Regency.
