In the development of Kabau Darat Tourism Village
The Sula Islands Regency Government is actively developing tourism development in its regional tourism based on the superiority of natural resources and culture that is owned. As a tourism destination that has a high span of marine and biodiversity, the development of tourism in the Sula Islands Regency is still considered not to be exploited optimally. Efforts to increase diversity of tourist attractions need to be done to provide more diverse tourist attraction choices and increase the number of tourist visits, as well as to stay longer in the Sula Islands. Increasing the diversity of tourist attractions must be followed by improving the quality of tourist attractions in order to provide valuable experience to tourists and broad benefits for the economy and sustainability of the natural, social, and cultural environment.
In supporting these efforts, Kabau Darat Village, Sula Besi Barat District, has the initiative to develop tourism potential in his village. The main potential possessed by Kabau Darat Village is Telaga Kabau. Apart from its natural beauty in the form of a lake and mangrove forest, this lake also has a folklore that is passed down from generation to generation by the local community. Telaga Kabau was once believed to be a village called Wai Bot which means water which then turned into a lake like now after a conflict between the tribes (SOA). To be able to develop the potential of Kabau Darat Village, one of which can be done through the development of tourism villages. Tourism Village as an instrument of tourism development in this region because by developing the potential of the village, it is hoped that all resources in the village can be optimized. However, all of these potentials must be managed well with great institutions in order to provide optimal benefits not only for tourists but also for the community in Kabau Darat Village.
To be able to provide a broader impact on the community , natural and cultural environment, as well as regions, tourism development in Kabau Darat Village is still faced with the following things: (1) Understanding the community and village officials on tourism is still limited so that it cannot explore the more diverse tourism potential and has a direct impact on the community; (2) the absence of tourism institutions that are active as tourism drivers; (3) the potential for various potential natural tourism resources and superior culture as a typical village tourism product so that it can only reach the tourist market in the number and groups that are still limited; (4) The availability of tourism facilities and services that meet the standards so that the needs of tourists while in the village cannot be fulfilled in full. The purpose of developing tourism in Kabau Darat Village must continue to be encouraged by developing various potentials that exist in the community, both the culture of tradition and community life, local craft and culinary products, as well as the potential of agriculture and plantations, as quality tourism products so as to have a real impact for the community broad.
Community Service Activities with the title "Community Empowerment in the Development of Kabau Darat Tourism Village" aims to produce community -based tourism products in accordance with their potential and advantages. In this community service activity, tourism products that are the scope of development are the components and experiences of travel that will be offered to tourists while in Kabau Darat Village. This dedication is focused on the development of tourism institutions and human resources as a driver and manager of tourism villages. Therefore, the targets to be achieved in community service activities include: (1) identification of the potential and problems of developing tourism villages; and (2) Institutional Development and Human Resources Mover and Tourism Village Managers.

This service activity has given an overview of the development of village tourism in rural areas. The benefit of the Sula Islands Regency is to obtain promotions to a higher level and is known to the provincial and national level that Kabau Darat Village has the potential to become a tourist village.
