LPPM ITB held community empowerment through white oyster mushroom cultivation in an effort to improve the economy of Mekarwangi Village community in Lembang District, West Bandung Regency. Cultivation of white oyster mushrooms has the potential to be developed in Mekarwangi Village because it is supported by the appropriate environmental conditions and the availability of raw materials that are easily found. The purpose of this program is to provide training on oyster mushroom cultivation, starting from the nursery process to harvesting, providing coaching in the production process of oyster mushrooms, product development, marketing, and sales. At the end, it is hoped that an oyster mushroom cultivation business center will be formed so that it can help the economy of residents in Mekarwangi Village. The activities that have been implemented are initial training, including making culture stocks, growing media, seed seeds, baglogs, maintenance and harvesting processes. Oyster mushroom cultivation training is done by material presentation methods, direct practices, and active discussions. Material presentation contains background and objectives of activities, the theory of oyster fungus cultivation, and a little technical implementation. The training process for each group of participants was guided by an assistant from the ITB LPPM team. At the end of the activity, the provision of tools and materials used during the training so that participants can start direct cultivation activities. In addition, the appointment of the group leader will make it easier for the ITB LPPM team to control and evaluate. P>

The population of Mekarwangi Village based on BPS data in 2012 was 6,025 people. The number of poor people in this village has 172 families, which is quite a lot. This is due to some residents do not have access to work and do not have sufficient financial capabilities. P>
