Stevioside is a natural sweetener with no calories, and becomes the new trend in almost all parts of the world to replace artificial sweeteners and reduces the use of sugar both in foodstuffs and medicine. Stevioside and its derivatives such as rebaudioside A are product of natural material isolated from herb Stevia rebaudiana. Until now the Indonesian people do not know the prospects, cultivation, and the correct processing of the stevia plant. Therefore, this program proposed to develop the civil society in the cultivation of stevia plant and production into quality plant material. This activity begins with the guidance to the society about the stevia plant, cultivation and processing into raw materials (crude drugs) as well as a natural sweetener, herbal medicine, and establishment of quality assurance in laboratory. Technical socialization of the program has been carried out and farmers were technically capable to undertake cultivation.
