Fish is a good source of protein because of its complete amino acid content and other bioactive compounds which are good for bone and brain growth. The fish that is often used as a source of protein is snakehead fish, but it is very expensive and not easy to cultivate. Catfish is a local fish that is very affordable and very easy to cultivate, even though it is done in a very traditional way. So far, catfish has only been cooked simply, so its value and benefits are less pronounced. Catfish, like other fish (patin, mackerel, tuna, milkfish) can be processed into various kinds of products that have high economic value and can be stored longer than if they were just cooked simply. Some processed fish-based food products include: meatballs, nuggets, sausages, otak-otak, shredded fish, smoked fish, and so on which can also come from catfish. Based on the above, training activities on the processing of various catfish-based products and assistance to earthquake victim communities in the Sumedang area are expected to be a form of economic recovery effort, providing nutritious food and empowering housewives. The Sumedang earthquake awareness activities carried out by ITB are focused on the North Sumedang sub-district. These awareness activities include: forming a monitoring and intervention team for children with poor giia, building catfish ponds on residents' land, developing youth for cultivating catfish from seeding to harvest and marketing, training in processing catfish cultivation products and preparing residents to take part in competitions. West Java provincial level regarding catfish cultivation as a solution to stunting. The activities were successfully carried out smoothly, resulting in a reduction in the number of under-five children with poor health after the intervention, the construction of ponds and the implementation of cultivation, harvesting, marketing and processing of catfish into various products.
