Activity Summary

"In personnel, the atmosphere of Science Expertise Group (KKSA) has been working with the Balai Jaga Foundation since 2009. The main goal is to strengthen the early community -based flood warning devices in the area. Elements that need to be met in the early warning system include (i) monitoring and predictions, (ii) dissemination systems, (iii) preparedness, and (iv) risk information. One of the results of this cooperation is a product in the form of a Fixed Flood Warning System Document in 2016 (Documents can be seen in supporting documents). From these activities, some development of early warning systems began to be seen, such as the instruments of monitoring and weather and river predictions, community preparedness training, and flood danger and vulnerability information. Activities with the basis of the community are still running and require support from various parties. The elements of supporting the early warning system continue to experience development, especially with the completeness of monitoring instrumentation and predictions and also public risk information. From this explanation, it can be concluded that the JB community requires updating SOPs that have been made together, related to the many developments in the elements of the early warning system. In addition, JB also needs support in perfecting the risk information system they have developed, especially in the vulnerability component. The Community Service Proposal (PKM) is made to participate in supporting/perfecting these two things, so that the purpose of the program to be implemented is (i) Updating SOP documents for the Flood Early Warning System for the Bandung Regency, especially Majalaya, and (ii) Updating SOP documents Flood early warning system for the Bandung Regency area, especially Majalaya. To fulfill this goal, in general, this activity consists of an inventory of early warning system devices, review of SOP documents, FGDs, and vulnerability surveys, which are explained in detail in the substance document. This activity is synchronized with JB (Support Letter can be seen in supporting documents), PKM Meteorology Student Association (HMME), and Project by Learning (PBL) lecture activities in the Meteorology of Water Resources."
