Activity Summary

The earthquake originating in land cesareans has the potential to cause numbers Victims and very significant damage. A study was needed by an impact analysis and risk of earthquake due to lembang fault activity against the city of Bandung, especially towards the education sector, as well as a risk reduction strategy and the planning of the earthquake mitigation for schools in the city of Bandung from a physical and non-physical perspective. In 2015, community service activities have been carried out on socialization of research on the potential of earthquake disaster in Bandung in the context of reducing the risk of disaster due to earthquake. Following up on 2015 activities, there are high interest in the school to be able to increase the capacity of the school to the threat of earthquakes and increase the knowledge of disaster from teachers and students. For this reason, it is expected that cooperation between schools with ITB and other relevant parties such as the Education Office, BPBD and FPRB to provide workshops and training to school in order to improve School preparedness capacity in dealing with earthquake disasters. This 2016 community service activities seeks to describe the risk of earthquake disaster in the city of Bandung which is expected to be able to improve the prediaperation of earthquakes and further reduce the risk of earthquake disaster. Desimination was carried out through workshops for educators, students and parents of students from schools. In addition, training related to school practices in the earthquake disaster, which aims to build a disaster-resistant school. This workshop and training will cooperate with the BPBD of West Java Province, West Java DRB forum, and the Bandung City Education Office. It is expected that in the future, all schools (TK, SD, Middle School, High School and SLB) in the city of Bandung can be surveyed and analyzed, and accompanied by efforts to increase earthquake-resistant school capacity, to reduce direct and indirect impacts for the community in the city Bandung.

Most teachers do not understand the risk of earthquake in the city of Bandung, the awareness is still very low. This is evident during the implementation of the survey to school where the survey results in 3 sub-districts and 13 kelurahan show that schools in the city of Bandung have a resistance value below the risk value, which indicates that schools in Bandung have a high risk of vulnerability and low resistance against earthquake disaster. Overall, the value of the lowest endurance index is found in aspects of human resources with poor disaster knowledge parameters of teachers, staff and students, or low levels of disaster knowledge from parents.
