Activity Summary

This community service activity aims to apply science and technology (science and technology) in managing household waste, especially into compost and liquid organic fertilizer (POC) to support the concept of Waste to Food and Sustainable Food Yards (P2L). Activities were carried out in RW 02, Pasirlayung Village, Bandung City, where the average organic waste produced by households in RW 02 was approximately 130 kg/day. Before the PM activities were carried out in RW 02, many methods had been socialized, including Kang Pisman (reduce, separate, utilize) and Buuan Sae. However, this effort has not yet borne fruit, because the interest of RW 02 residents is still low in separating organic and inorganic waste, let alone processing it into compost and POC. After this activity was socialized to waste officers, PKK women in RW 02, and provided plastic trash drum drum facilities equipped with micro organisms to break down organic waste as well as screens (compost and POC) and taps to collect POC, the amount of waste that could be utilized as much as 130 kg/day or 3,900 kg/month. The solid compost and POC produced are used for planting vegetables to support sustainable food gardens (P2L)

Target

This community service activity aims to create a sustainable (integrated) waste management system by producing quality fertilizer (compost and POC) for cultivating food crops (vegetables) in the yards of RW 02 residents, as well as supporting the concept of Waste to Food and Sustainable Food Yards ( P2L).
