Activity Summary

This community service aims to design and develop a sustainable sago processing Edupark and its waste processing installation. Sago is one of the main food sources in eastern Indonesia, including on Seram Island, Maluku. Apart from being a staple food, sago also has significant economic value. However, the traditional sago processing process often produces waste that is not properly managed, thus potentially polluting the environment. On the other hand, the introduction of modern technology that prioritizes sustainability principles is still minimally implemented.

Edupark's design includes:

- Production Area: Sago processing facility with semi-modern technology.

- Education Zone: Interactive area for visitors to learn about the sago processing process and waste management
Effluent Treatment Plant: Liquid waste processing system using biofiltration technology and solid waste for organic fertilizer.
