West Limalas Village is a village that has been expanded in East Misool District, Raja Ampat Regency, West Papua, the 38th Province of 38 Provinces in Indonesia. West Limalas Village is one of the villages that was expanded from Limalas Village, apart from East Limalas and Audam. Villages on Misool Island develop along the coast, separated from each other by hills, with road infrastructure access that is not yet fully connected. Some of the problems that have arisen in this village include issues of electirification, wave and tidal abrasion, the internet, the use of wood waste, and the processing of fish and agricultural products. However, the main fundamental problem is related to the availability of clean water. The stratigraphy of Misool Island consists of sedimentary, metamorphic and pyroclastic rocks with an age range of Mesozoic to Quaternary. Meanwhile, along the coastline, these rocks are deposited in harmony on top of Quaternary sediments. West Limalas Village, which is located on the north coast of Misool Island, is composed of Miocene limestone, in the form of calcarenite and calcilutite, as well as Quaternary alluvium deposits. The hydrogeological system is a "limestone aquifer system through intergranular spaces and fissures with moderate productivity". Limestone has the potential to have an economical water source that can be exploited in its fracture system, however, the presence of springs far above the hills and the groundwater level being quite deep means that some residents in this village have limited access to clean water, especially during the dry season. The position of settlements located on the coast, between 5 – 100 meters, also poses a challenge in terms of sea water intrusion.
The impact for village communities is that through innovative technology it can produce fast and efficient growth of crabs and sea cucumbers, reducing the risk of death while still maintaining the quality of the marine environment. This method can be a pilot area for other regions. Disseminate knowledge that is beneficial to society. Introducing the role and contribution of KK/FS and ITB in Indonesia, especially the 3T area. Improving community welfare while still preserving the environment.
