Aquaculture activities in Indonesia play a major role in meeting food needs while increasing community income. One of the superior commodities of Indonesian aquaculture is white shrimp (Litopenaeus Vannamei). Zero Water Discharge technology is a maintenance technology that is very concerned about water quality management management. This technology application is able to maintain the stability of culture conditions during the culture period. Therefore, the culture system with Zero Water Discharge technology is expected to answer the problems in the cultivation of white shrimp enlargement. White shrimp is a marine shrimp whose cultivation can only be done in coastal areas with high salinity waters. In an effort to develop urban farming and improving community welfare, the development of Zero Water Discharge technology with low salinity for white shrimp needs to be done. In this community service activity implemented a white shrimp cultivation system with low salinity zero water discharge technology at HSRT (household scale hatchery) vopular "located in the village of Cerme Lor, Gresik, East Java.
Application of appropriate technology
At present the total production of white shrimp in Indonesia still cannot meet market demand. This is because the maintenance technology used is still conventional.
