TraceBee Purifier is a post-harvest honey dehumidification and sterilization tool designed to have a small volume with a fairly cheap assembly price designed by the P2MS ITB team as a solution to the problem of the unavailability of post-harvest honey processing equipment for Trigona beekeepers in Lampung Province which has been around for a long time. In 2022, the ITB P2MS team will be built with the support of ITB Community Service funds. The Tracebee Purifier has been successfully developed, and four groups of Trigona beekeepers in Lampung Province that were coached by the P2MS ITB team have received and been trained to use the Tracebee Purifier. With post-harvest honey processing equipment and the Tracebee traceability system which has been created in 2022 and 2023, it is hoped that it can improve the quality and traceability of trigona honey sold by trained trigona beekeepers, so that the sustainability of trigona bee cultivation in Lampung Province can be maintained.
Community Service Activities by the P2MS ITB team in 2024 have also strengthened the collaboration network between P2MS ITB and the research team from the Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA) where the ITERA research team contributed to improving the Tracebee Purifier and also found opportunities for collaborative research activities in field of Trigona Apicalis honey involving the P2MS ITB team, the ITERA research team, and trigona beekeepers in Lampung Province.

The use of Tracebee Purifier by assisted Trigona beekeepers in Lampung Province will: ● Improving the quality of honey produced by breeders, ● Increase the selling value of honey, ● Increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian honey, ● Improving the welfare of honey farmers. Apart from that, this activity is also expected to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian honey in the global market.
