In the midst of the urbanization process (expansion of the city), land-based livelihoods in the urban area such as sekepicung may be irrelevant � replaced with service-based work, such as restaurant waiters, parking attendants and ojeg. However, uncontrolled development in sekepicung leads to problems that lead to community loss over these two elements: access to natural resources (water, land) and socio-cultural identity. The Kampung Sekepicung community is a farmer community (indicated by the remnants of rice fields and gardens filling land plots on the east side of the village), Sundanese cultural artists and craftsmen (especially bamboo crafts).
