Facilitation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is a strategic priority for the Indonesian government in encouraging national economic growth. Through training, workshops and tailored financing schemes, this assistance aims to strengthen the capacity of MSME players to compete in local and international markets. Digital transformation accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic has encouraged MSMEs to switch to digital platforms, supported by the government through infrastructure, e-commerce training and collaboration with marketplaces. This approach also includes improving product quality and packaging according to global standards, in order to elevate the Indonesian MSME brand internationally.
In the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, MSMEs are the main pillar of the economy with significant budget support for economic recovery. However, challenges such as limited access to financing, marketing, technology, human resources and raw materials remain the main obstacles. A survey of MSME actors identified the need for technical training and offline courses as the desired solution.
Literature shows that MSME mentoring can increase productivity, competitiveness and integration into global value chains, as well as strengthen environmental sustainability and responsibility corporate social. With a comprehensive and sustainable approach, it is hoped that MSME assistance will not only strengthen the resilience of small businesses, but also encourage inclusive economic growth in Indonesia.
