Activity Summary

Lake Maninjau is a lake in Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The community around Lake Maninjau has the main livelihood as a pharmaceous fishnet farmer. This work field provides considerable income and is relatively easy to do so that its development is very rapid and uncontrollable. In an effort to solve this problem, LPPM ITB cooperates with ITB and the Regional Government of Agam Regency provides several solutions including fostering the spirit of agro-industrial-based entrepreneurship, with this, it is expected that people can have other alternative jobs besides becoming floating cord fish farmers. This entrepreneurial growth program has been conducted since 2015 with a focus of developing white oyster fungus cultivation around Lake Maninjau. The program stages begins with surveys both environmental conditions and conditions of the community. Furthermore, oyster mushroom cultivation training starts from the process of making pure culture, grain seeds, baglog to harvesting processes. The final goal of this program is the establishment of an independent oyster mushroom business center that can meet the economic needs of the perpetrators.
