Light pollution has become a pressing environmental problem in the modern world. This light pollution problem has undesirable impacts on various fields. Astronomy is one of those that feels the bad impact directly. Light pollution interferes with astronomical observations and research. Therefore, the ITB Astronomy Group and the Bosscha Observatory have a direct interest in being involved in solving this problem, especially in the area around the Bosscha Observatory.
Efforts to deal with the problem of light pollution are carried out in various ways and approaches. In this work, the development of communication media to socialize light pollution for elementary school levels in the environment around the Bosscha Observatory was carried out. The media produced from this activity was then used directly in (separate) light pollution outreach activities carried out by the Bosscha Observatory for elementary school students around the Observatory.
