Activity Summary

Rancamanyar Village in Baleendah District, Bandung Regency, is one of the areas with significant levels of plastic waste pollution, especially along the banks of the Citarum River. This Community Service Program aims to overcome this problem through the development of a technology-based geospatial platform and participatory mapping. This activity includes identifying plastic waste landfill points using satellite and UAV data, building a waste bank information platform, as well as empowering the community in designing needs and an effective waste management system. Collaboration between academics, the Bersinar Waste Bank, and village communities is the basis of the program, with each party playing an active role in developing appropriate solutions. The output of this activity includes a map of plastic waste heap locations, a geospatial-based waste bank information system. This program is expected to increase the effectiveness of plastic waste management, reduce pollution on the banks of the Citarum River, and raise public awareness of the importance of sustainable waste management.
