Activity Summary

Cassava production in 2011 in Blora Regency was around 310 tons. Unfortunately, the cassava product is not a superior commodity in the economic sector. Need to debrive knowledge and skills of innovation development of cassava commodities to increase the economic value of cassava so that it can become an alternative mainstay of the poverty alleviation program. On the visit of the LPPM team to Blora on March 9, 2013 in the context of monitoring and evaluation of previous activities, Regent Blora has expressed the potential of cassava aquaculture and strongly supports community coaching plans through the Modified Cassava Flour (Mocaf) development program in Jepon District. This support is in line with Perhutani programs that provide opportunities for the people around the forest to utilize Perhutani land after three years. As a follow-up program from the previous activity, then for 2014 the activity focused on the debriefing program of mocaf processing knowledge and skills into a mocaf-based downstream product such as biscuits, noodles, mochi and nuggets. Aspects of packaging, preservation and safety of processed products will also be covered in this program.
