Activity Summary

South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara is an area that has the potential for natural tourism and cultural tourism. Natural tourism includes mountain tourism and marine tourism. Cultural tourism includes the traditional house culture of Ume Kbubu in the Mutis area, as well as the weaving culture carried out by women. The natural and cultural potential in South Central Timor Regency (TTS) is currently still not popular. Through Community Service activities, this bottom-up scheme is expected to help improve and organize tourism in South Central Timor Regency.

The 2024 activity is the 3rd year of activities. The first year created the website www.timortengahselatan.com. which contains information about the TTS, NTT regions, various types of weaving in three swaprajas, namely Mollo, Amanatun, and Amanuban, as well as books related to Boti Weaving. In the second year, tourist maps were made and the Mutis Nature and Culture Tourism book was written. The third year provides training related to online promotion and sales systems using Instagram social media. Training on how to create content and photos that can attract buyers. The use of social media is expected to increase people's income.  The third year added data on marine tourism in the TTS area, especially Oetune and Kolbano beaches. Apart from that, he made the book Ume Kbubu which tells about traditional houses in the Mutis Mollo area. This is an educational medium for children as well as a medium for preserving the cultural results of TTS NTT.

The activities in the 3rd year were welcomed by the Tourism Office, Library Service, and Kodim 1621 South Central Timor. This government institution gives positive appreciation for writing books that can expand children's knowledge. The residents of Mutis Village, especially Mr. Raja Matheos Anin and the Chairman of the Rukun Warga, really appreciated the writing of this book.

This year's Community Service Activities further strengthen cultural preservation and tourism promotion in South Central Timor Regency.
