Activity Summary

One of the areas that often experiences a flood disaster is Bandung basin which is reduced by the River from the Citarum (River) of the Citarum, West Java Province. The Citarum (BBWS) Large Hall (BBWS) (2011) noted, a large flood in the Bandung basin in 2010 which soaked nearly 8000 hectares of the region (BBWS Citarum, 2011). Although the flooding that occurred in the Bandung Basin has occurred since 30 years ago (Kompas, 2010), but the frequency of floods is increasingly occurring and with a longer duration of time. Floods in each region almost occur every year when the rainy season arrives. This is caused by lower surface conditions that are lower than the surface of the river. In addition, the condition of the Citarum River is also increasingly superficial due to sedimentation and erosion in the upstream area. When viewed from the side of the impact, the height of the flood inundation that occurs is increasing every year. Community service activities include presentations from the ITB and the Garda Caah community which are then completed by discussions between ITB, Garda Caah, and the local BPDB. What is obtained from discussions between these actors is that many activities and information are unknown and need to be communicated with each other so that the integration can be done.

Target
