Activity Summary

The earthquake disaster in Cianjur Regency on November 21, 2022, with a magnitude of 5.6 caused massive losses, both property and casualties. According to BMKG data earthquake shocks are felt in the area around the location of the earthquake center in Cianjur Regency on the MMI V-VI scale (Modified Mercalli Intensity). According to data from the Geological Agency, the distribution of population settlements that are affected by earthquake shocks lies in the high earthquake prone (KRB). The Cianjur earthquake has a danger of follow -up, namely landslides that caused many fatalities. The cause of the disaster in Cianjur Regency, especially in Gasol Village, Cugenang District, besides being caused by the strength of the earthquake itself, is also the most important knowledge and understanding of the potential threats and efforts to reduce the risk of earthquake disasters, there are still many people who do not have a level of awareness (awareness) which is quite high in disaster. Lack of awareness can increase community risk of a disaster. The community is a group that first felt the impact of a disaster. The community needs to be introduced to the type of disaster hazard threats where the community lives, how to avoid and reduce the threat of hazards and vulnerability, as well as increase the ability to deal with every disaster threat so that the risks can be reduced or not at all. Local wisdom and traditional knowledge in the community can be included in the PRB to strengthen the factors in the PRB. Community service activities are academic community activities that utilize science and technology to advance the welfare of the community and educate the life of the nation, including in disaster risk reduction activities. Community service can be done with various positive activities. The method used in this program is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. Data collection at the time of the survey was conducted with observation, in -depth interviews, FGDs, and studies of coordination documents with local governments, namely Gasol Village, Cugenang District 1.2 The objectives and targets of the general objectives of this program were as an effort to reduce disaster risk by developing a tough village pioneering disaster through Disaster education that is adapted to knowledge and knowledge with research results in tertiary institutions that are adapted to the culture and local wisdom of the village community. The specific objectives include: 1. Accompanying the community in building the concepts and pilots of a resilient village. 2. Help strengthen the preparedness system at the RT and RW levels which include: (a) Helping to prepare a contributing planned earthquake disaster (b) helps prepare a community evacuation plan (map, path, sign, safe evacuation point) that can be used before and at the time of the disaster occurs (c) encouraging the formation of institutions at the RT and RW (Disaster Management Volunteers) levels that have the ability to handle disaster emergency. 3. Help strengthen better development planning (build back better) to prevent new risks and reduce the risk of disasters that exist at the smallest government level (RT and RW). The development of this tough village is expected to provide solutions to the problems of village communities with a holistic approach based on multidisciplinary research, applying the results of superior research universities in accordance with the urgency of the needs of the village community, providing strengthening the potential of the village community through the application of higher education research results, forming a fostered village as wrong One model of college science-technopark.
