Activity Summary

Wailabu Village, District. Central Salawati, Kab. Raja Ampat, Prov. Southwest Papua has the potential for large quantities of surface water, however there are challenges in access to utilization due to geographical conditions, infrastructure and limited energy availability. ITB's Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Villages PDTT 3T is implementing a community service program to increase access to raw water through PV installations equipped with batteries, as well as installation of water filter tubes to produce decent clean water.

The PLTS installation was carried out on Thursday (21/11/2024) with 4x565 W PV, 3kW hybrid inverter, and 48V-100AH battery, with effective energy used of 4.0 kWh. With an estimated 3 hours of exposure, the energy that can be harvested is around 6kWH. So it is recommended to use pumps during the day, so that the surplus from PV can be directly used for pump operations.

The PLTS installation was carried out at two locations. At the first location, PLTS is used to power a 0.75HP raw water pump, while at the second location, it is used to operate water pumps from dug wells for the needs of local residents and is used as an electricity supply.

Installation of well water filter tubes has been successful and produces water that is clean and suitable for use by the people of Wailabu Village.

This energy supply system, in the future, could be a complement if the PLN electricity network reaches this area.

Conclusion:

1. The installation of PLTS has succeeded in increasing access to raw water in two different locations. 2.PLTS is also an alternative electricity supply for local residents with 4 kWh per day. 3. Installation of a well water filter tube at the first location has produced clean water suitable for needs. domestic
